Dry Needling for Verruca.Ideal treatment for stubborn, long standing clusters of verruca tissues. Verruca/ warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) which is highly contagious.
Under local anaesthetic, the verruca tissue is punctured using a hypodermic sterile needle. Thus, causing physical breakdown of the Verruca tissue creating a controlled inflammatory response. The viral particles are exposed to the deeper dermis and adipose tissue beneath which are rich in immune regulators which in turn prompts an immune response to recognise the virus as a foreign particle and destroys it. Usually one or two treatments is sufficient to rid of the virus and you can resume normal activity within a couple of days of the procedure. Once procedure is complete a dressing is applied and needs to be kept dry for 24 hours. |
